Have an open, positive mindset | Planned an outdoor wedding, but it’s supposed to rain? Think of it as good luck. Don’t lose sight of the sole purpose of your wedding day. It’s not about the day at all, it’s about the rest of your life with the love of your life. Becoming a typical high-maintenance bridezilla will not help you or anyone around you, and will most certainly not make your wedding day any more special. It’s all about your perspective.

Choose the dress YOU love, sorry Mom | It’s perfectly normal to grab your girls and hit up the local bridal shops in search of the perfect gown. Just keep in mind that the perfect gown to you, may not be the perfect gown to those you brought along with you. Of course their opinion matters, that’s why you brought them, but this is YOUR day. Make sure you feel comfortable, confident and beautiful in this gown, and don’t buy one you’re not absolutely in love with just to make your mother-in-law happy.

Invest in what you prioritize | Photographers, videographers, and musicians are what will make your wedding day one for the books. These three categories are the most underrated, but should be the most important investments of your wedding. “What about my venue? That’s pretty important too.” Yes it it, and you should get married somewhere that feels unique to you. However, a bad photographer can make your beautiful wedding look like you got married in an old musty basement. A bad DJ or band can kill a crowd. So choose wisely whom you invest in, and be sure their top priority is to capture your vision so you can look back fondly on your perfect wedding day.

We hope this post helps get you through this wedding season with a little more peace of mind and direction.
